The Ridge is an independent preparatory school for boys from Grades 0 to 7. Independent schools are also known as private schools.
How many pupils do you have?
We have around 450 boys enrolled.

Do you have a high school?
No, but we have a close relationship with all the senior boys' schools around the country, and our boys have traditionally been readily accepted into their first-choice schools, where financial considerations have allowed. In fact, Ridge boys are eagerly sought after!
Do you have a relationship with a particular girls' school?
Yes, our "sister school" is St Katharine's, situated close by in Escombe Avenue, Parktown.
Do you offer boarding?
Weekly boarding is available to boys from Grades 3-7. Please see our Weekly Boarding section for more information.
Do you offer bursaries or scholarships?
We offer scholarships for promising boys from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. This may be discussed with the Headmaster or Head of the Junior School.
