Overview

Parents have enquired as to whether a facility can be provided whereby school fees and other charges can be paid by means of a credit card, thus assisting the card holder to benefit from the various ‘reward’ plans offered to the account holder.

The Ridge School has in association with The Standard Bank of South Africa Ltd. arranged for this facility to be available to parents as an elective for settling their accounts.

The payment process is transacted via a Payment Service Provider, utilising software which is technically of the highest standard available.

As this mode of payment is at the elective of the payer, and has associated costs, to be paid, over and above normal bank tariffs, it is hereby declared that the following stated charges will be for the account of the payer, and will reflect on the fee statement from time to time:

1. Merchant card service fee of 2.5% (Mastercard / Visa), 3.5%(Dinners) or 3.75%(Amex) plus VAT  of transaction value handled by the website paygate.

Payment Options

All transactions will be processed in South African Rands (ZAR). Alternative payment options include EFT and Direct Deposit.

Security Policy

1. Virtual Card Services process all credit card transactions. All credit card transactions are 128 bit Secure Socket Layers (SSL) encrypted. The company registration documents and the site's registered domain name are checked and verified by Thawte, ensuring the cardholder and merchant that nobody can impersonate VCS to obtain confidential information.
2. Virtual Card Services is committed to providing secure online services. All encryption complies with international standards. Encryption is used to protect the transmission of personal information when completing online transactions. Virtual Card Services Internet servers are protected by firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
3. The Merchant does not have access to credit details.
4. Virtual Card Services continually reviews and enhances its security in line with technological changes.
